The Border Security Force (BSF), under the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, is one of the Central Armed Police Forces responsible for guarding India's land borders and preventing transnational crime. The Directorate General BSF has invited applications for the posts of Head Constable (Radio Operator) and Head Constable (Radio Mechanic) in its Communication Set-up for the vacancy year 2025. These are Non-Gazetted, Non-Ministerial, Combatised Group C posts on a temporary basis likely to be made permanent. The posts carry all-India liability, and selected candidates may be posted anywhere in India or abroad. Incumbents will be governed by the BSF Act and Rules and will be entitled to allowances including Dearness Allowance, Ration Money Allowance, Dress Allowance, Special Compensatory Allowance, free uniform, free accommodation or HRA, Transport Allowance, LTC, and other admissible allowances. They will be covered under the New Pension Scheme/UPS as per Central Civil Services (Extra Ordinary Pension) Amendment Rules-2003. The recruitment is open to both direct entry candidates and BSF serving GD/Tradesmen personnel through the Limited Departmental Competitive Examination (LDCE) channel, as well as Ex-Servicemen and Compassionate Appointment categories. |

Candidates must be Indian citizens willing to serve anywhere in India or abroad. For Head Constable (Radio Operator), the academic qualification is a pass in Intermediate or 12th standard with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics from a recognised Board or University as a regular student with aggregate 60% marks in these three subjects; or Matriculation plus a two-year ITI certificate in Radio and Television, Electronics Engineering, Computer Operator and Programming Assistant, Data Preparation and Computer Software, General Electronics Engineering, or Data Entry Operator from a recognised institute. For Head Constable (Radio Mechanic), the qualification is the same 12th standard with PCM at 60%; or Matriculation plus ITI in Radio and Television, General Electronics, Computer Operator and Programming Assistant, Data Preparation and Computer Software, Electrician, Fitter, Information Technology and Electronics System Maintenance, Communication Equipment Maintenance, Computer Hardware, Network Technician, Mechatronics, or Data Entry Operator. The age limit for Unreserved candidates is 18 to 25 years as on the closing date of online application, with relaxations for OBC, SC/ST, Ex-Servicemen, LDCE candidates, Government employees, and Widow/Divorced women as specified. Persons with Disabilities (PWD) are not eligible for this examination. Ex-Servicemen must have retired from an equivalent or higher rank in the same trade in Army, Navy, or Air Force. |

Reservation is applicable as per central government norms. Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes are eligible for 5-year age relaxation; Other Backward Classes for 3 years. Ten percent of vacancies are reserved for Ex-Servicemen and 5% for Compassionate Appointment candidates out of the 75% direct recruitment vacancies. Twenty-five percent of vacancies are reserved for willing and eligible BSF GD/Tradesmen (LDCE). EWS reservation is applicable; candidates must possess Income and Asset Certificate valid for year 2025-26. Qualifying marks in CBT are 38% for General, OBC, and EWS; 33% for SC/ST; and 20% for Compassionate Appointment candidates. All posts are open to both male and female candidates. BSF strives to maintain a workforce reflecting gender balance and encourages women candidates to apply. |

Complete One Time Registration (OTR) Visit the BSF Recruitment Portal at https://rectt.bsf.gov.in and complete One Time Registration by providing mobile number, active email ID, identity document details, personal information, address, qualification details, scanned photograph (30–100 KB) and signature (20–50 KB). - 2
Login and select post Sign in using your registered email ID (Username) and password. Click on the 'RECRUITMENT OPENING' tab, select the relevant advertisement, and choose the post — HC(RO), HC(RM), or both — under 'SELECT POST'. - 3
Fill online application (Part-II) Fill in academic qualification, physical standards, category/sub-category reservation details, and centre preference. Candidates applying for both posts must fill separate applications and indicate post preference order (1 and 2). - 4
Upload documents Upload scanned educational certificates, caste certificates, and any other relevant documents in .jpg, .jpeg, .png, or .pdf format (30–100 KB each). Ensure all documents are clearly legible. - 5
Pay examination fee (Part-III) Pay the examination fee of ₹100 per post via Net Banking, Credit/Debit Card of any bank, or nearest authorised Common Service Centre. SC, ST, Female, Ex-Servicemen, BSF Departmental, and Compassionate Appointment candidates are fee-exempt; however, ₹50 plus taxes (₹59) Service Charge is levied by CSC on all candidates. - 6
Final submission and printout Verify all details, complete declaration, and submit the application. Take a printout of the filled application for personal records. The printout is not required to be submitted to the Recruitment Agency.

- Candidates applying for both HC(RO) and HC(RM) must submit separate online applications and pay fee for each post.
- Use one active email ID and mobile number throughout; all recruitment communications will be sent to these.
- Print out of application form is not required to be submitted to any BSF Recruitment Agency.
- Candidates must carry at least one valid photo ID to the examination venue failing which they will not be allowed to appear.
- Serving Govt. employees and BSF Departmental candidates must upload NOC from their employer at the time of application.
- Online applications with illegible or blurred photograph/signature will be rejected summarily.
- No TA/DA will be paid to any candidate for appearing in the recruitment process.
- Candidates are advised not to wait till closing date to avoid disconnection/heavy load on website.
- Mobile phones, smart watches, Bluetooth devices, and any electronic gadgets are strictly prohibited inside examination premises.
