The Indian Navy's 10+2 B Tech Cadet Entry Scheme offers a prestigious pathway for eligible young men and women to join the Navy as Permanent Commissioned Officers in Technical branches. Selected candidates undergo a four-year B Tech degree programme at the Indian Naval Academy (INA), Ezhimala — one of India's most distinguished military training institutions. The course covers Mechanical Engineering and Electronics & Communication Engineering as the two primary streams, with seven candidates from Mechanical Engineering additionally streamed into B Tech in Naval Architecture and Shipbuilding at the Naval College of Engineering, Kochi, based on merit and academic performance during training. The B Tech degree is conferred by Jawaharlal Nehru University on successful completion. Candidates shortlisted through JEE (Main) 2026 All India Common Rank List are called for Service Selection Board interviews conducted at Bengaluru, Bhopal, Kolkata, and Visakhapatnam. The entire cost of training, including books, reading material, clothing, and messing, is borne by the Indian Navy. Commissioned officers are entitled to pay, allowances, group insurance, gratuity, and leave benefits as per government rules detailed on the official Navy recruitment portal. |
